I haven’t had a burger or fries in forever—trying to stay on track with my health goals—but wow, Downtown City Tavern absolutely delivered. When you finally decide to give in to a craving and treat yourself, there’s nothing worse than it being a letdown. But this? This was everything I needed it to be. The burger was juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The fries? Crispy, golden, and totally worth every extra calorie. Whoever was on the grill—seriously, THANK YOU. You made my day (and possibly my week)! If you're going to indulge, make it count—and this place makes it count in the best way. I’ll be back… eventually. Once I earn it again!
Went here for the first time last night with my partner. We got there 10 minutes before the kitchen closed and we were still seated, got everything we ordered, and it was all perfect. Our server was pleasant and we were not made to feel rushed even though we were the last people there. Pricing is a little up there, but that's par for the area. I definitely recommend stopping in, anything off their drink menu will be fantastic and I cannot say enough good things about the food we got.
The spinach artichoke dip is phenomenal! So cheesy. We had Smooth creamy mac with a long cheese pull, Fancy lobster bisque, and Buffalo pizza. I'm very happy with this meal.
A friend told us about this place and we loved it! The food was excellent, good beer selection and great service! We only got appetizers and they were awesome. Chicken tenders are yummy! So are the wings and fries. I will be back! Oh and just a good old milkshake rocked!
The service was the Best and the food was delicious! I had scrumptious lobster bisque, a Mexican street corn salad and a very large portion of super creamy Mac and cheese that was served in its own cast iron skillet which kept it hot! The booths are xtra large with really comfortable seats. Thank You!
Great place to grab a bite before a hockey game! Not as big as I anticipated so get there early or expect to wait. I'm glad we waited, the hostess got us in ASAP and once we were seated Lauren was sure to ask if we were going to the game. Once we informed her we were she ensured expeditious service so that we wouldn't miss the game which was much appreciated! 3/4 of us got burgers and all were very happy! The hangover burger was a nice combination of flavors and the seasoned fries Lauren offered were quite the treat! It was extremely loud in there but that's to be expected on busy nights with patrons pumped about watching some hockey!
We enjoyed a great Sunday night dinner. The restaurant was busy, but we were able to be seated right away. Buffalo chicken dip with pita dippers was excellent - lots of crispy melted cheese on top and creamy dip underneath. Highly recommend! I ordered the Tiramisu boozy milkshake - sooo good and huge, had to decide between finishing that or my meal. My husband and I split the beef Shawarma and the Smokehouse Burger. Both excellent. Not a lot of restaurants are open in the area on Sundays. Definitely recommend stopping here next time you are looking for one as we were.
I was in an unfamiliar area and wanted a bite to eat. A friend and I went there and it was wonderful from start to finish. The lovely girl who greeted us, also showed us to a table, then waited on us. Although moderately busy, (it was a Sunday) she found time to return to our table to ask if all was good. She also stopped by several times to exchange pleasantries with us. The food was great and the service was great. The bartender was also excellent. I highly recommend this establishment. I am looking for a reason to go back, just to go back for another great experience. Everything was great, but to be honest, not being familiar with the area, we chose this place because we saw boozy milkshakes on the menu. I recommend the salted caramel bourbon. Lol Awesome place!!! We also ordered a pizza to bring back to our hotel. That was also delicious.
